About
Hello! My name is Cyrus Ebadat and I am serving in the Peace Corps as a Youth in Development volunteer in Thailand! I will be serving from January 2018 - March 2020. The purpose of this blog is so that I can share my experience living in Thailand and serving in the Peace Corps with my family and friends.
Just some background on me, I had recently graduated from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a Political Science degree. Some of my experiences were that I have been a part of Student Government and different leadership opportunities within my university, which have helped me understand myself in a professional sense. I have worked within the food industry since I was eighteen-years-old and have enjoyed it (for the most part), but I want to be a part of something greater than myself. I have always had a drive to push myself past my comfort zone in all aspects of my life, but I have yet to push myself into the unknown of traveling the world on my own.
However, for the next two years I will be able to face that challenge head on in the country know as the "Land of Smiles", Thailand! Traveling the world is something that I am sure we all dream of and I get to live out that dream. Throughout my blog I will be telling you the story of my work and experiences living abroad as well as my feelings towards the whole experience. Feel free to message me over Facebook, e-mail, or even mail (once I know the address of where you can send mail I will post it on Facebook and my blog) in order to ask me questions about specific experiences, to reach out to me, or even just to show your support.
Thank you for your support in reading my blog and I hope you enjoy!

P.S. If you would like to understand the meaning behind the title of the blog please follow the link bellow. I think the article explains it the best. The phrase itself is not something that I currently live by, but I think it will definitely be something that I will remind myself of throughout my service.
